Phelps: Looking for revenge
Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps will look to avenge his defeat to Germany's Paul Biedermann when the pair clash in the short-course World Cup meeting in Berlin.
The 24-year-old will go into the competition on November 14-15 knowing that Biedermann resigned him to his first defeat in four years at Rome's World Aquatic Championships last July.
Phelps, who won eight gold medals at the Beijing Olympics in 2008, also saw his world record broken by the 23-year-old German.
Biedermann is struggling with a thigh injury but is expected to be fit to face Phelps at Berlin's Landsberger Allee pool.
"He pounded me into the dust in the summer," said Phelps who will compete in the 200m backstroke, 200m freestyle and the 200m butterfly, as well as the 100m and 200m individual medley relay.
World-record holders Peter Marshall (50m backstroke) and Jessica Hardy (50m breaststroke) are also expected to appear in Berlin.
