Powell: Confident of vicotry
Asafa Powell has come out fighting by insisting that his fellow countryman Usain Bolt can be beaten.
Bolt is the current Olympic and world champion, in both the 100m and 200m - with the Jamaican shocking everyone by smashing the world records in both events.
He originally broke the 100m world record at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, but then beat his own time at the World Championships in Berlin, recording a time of 9.58 seconds.
Beijing was where Bolt smashed the 200m record, producing a fine performance to stop the clock at 19.19s.
Despite this, Powell is still confident in his ability to overcome his compatriot and said: "There's no real superman or anybody that is invincible.
"I still have confidence in myself, I know I can do it.
"Well anybody can be beaten but in the 100m right now, Usain is running very fast... So you really have to be at your best on that day to win the race."
With Bolt earning the tag of the fastest man on the planet, he has become the target for all the other athletes now.
This is a factor which Powell believes can work in his favour and help him to overhaul his compatriot.
He said: "Usain is the target right now and I'm shooting at him, hopefully I don't miss."
