Tiger Woods: In HD
The first time I saw golf in HD was at The Ryder Cup in 2006 and you could almost feel the weather brighten on screen, tell the direction of the wind, see the ripples across the water and the movement of the grass.

Quotes of the week
Sky Sports will show more live golf in high definition starting this month.
From the start of the World Golf Championship Accenture Matchplay on Thursday 20th February, until the final European Tour event of the season, November's Volvo Masters, Sky Sports will broadcast golf in HD every month.
Each live event on the PGA European Tour and all three World Golf Championship events will be in high definition for the first time anywhere, alongside the US Open, US PGA Championship and the Ryder Cup.
The 2006 Ryder Cup was the first golf to be broadcast in HD, followed by the US Open and US PGA Championship of 2007. Now Sky Sports will offer 28 live events in HD throughout the 2008 season.
The tournaments to be shown in HD will be:
***WORLD GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP - Each event live and exclusive: The Accenture Matchplay [20-24 February], CA Championship [20-23 March] and Bridgestone Invitational [31 July-3 August].
***PGA EUROPEAN TOUR - Live coverage of 22 Tour events, from the Andalucia Open [27-30 March] through to the Volvo Masters [27-30 November].
***THE MAJORS - Live and exclusive coverage of the US Open [12-15 June] and US PGA Championship [7-10 August].
***THE RYDER CUP - Exclusively live coverage of the 2008 Ryder Cup matches, as Europe defend in Valhalla, Kentucky [19 -21 September].
Sky Sports was the first broadcaster in the UK to show golf in high definition during its live coverage of The 2006 Ryder Cup at The K Club in Ireland. Sky HD viewers could watch the European victory in remarkable detail, with four times the clarity of standard definition pictures and Dolby 5.1 sound.
Sky Sports commentator Ewen Murray says; "This is great news - HD is sensational for golf.
"The first time I saw golf in HD was at The Ryder Cup in 2006 and you could almost feel the weather brighten on screen, tell the direction of the wind, see the ripples across the water and the movement of the grass.
"HD also meant viewers could sense the contours of fairways and greens on the Palmer course and examine the grips and swings of the players as they lined up their shots. It's stunning."
Sky Sports shows live golf coverage throughout the year from over 50 live events including two Majors all three World Golf Championship events, the Omega Mission Hills World Cup; and 35 events from the European Tour including, from next year, live coverage of the four UK based Tour events in partnership with The BBC. Sky Sports also shows live coverage of The Seve Trophy, Solheim Cup, Royal Trophy, plus events on the amateur, Seniors and Women's Tours plus exclusive live coverage of the 2008, 2010 and 2012 Ryder Cups.
