Pretty Boy: Ready for Ricky
Floyd Mayweather's camp continue to be supremely confident about their man's chances of beating Ricky Hatton, saying The Hitman will not last the distance in Las Vegas.
Mayweather's advisor Leonard Ellerbe does not believe that the Mancunian can stay with his man for the full 12 rounds, and is predicting an early stoppage by the Pretty Boy.
The controversial Mayweather is the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world, and Ellerbe, just like the fighter himself, fully believes he will remain in that position after the fight.
Come 8th December at the MGM Grand, Ellerbe says that Hatton will not be able to live with Mayweather for 12 rounds.
"I will tell you this fight isn't going 12 rounds. Period," Ellerbe told boxingrealm.com.
"This fight is country versus country.
"And I think there is a lot of genuine bad blood between these two fighters and they are going to get the chance to settle that come December 8."
Ellerbe added: "This fight is the biggest fight that Hatton has ever been in.
"For Floyd, all he is going to do is be himself and that is the six-time world champion in five different weight classes and undefeated in eight years.
"Whatever Hatton attempts to do, it won't be good enough."
Ellerbe says Mayweather's preparations for the big showdown, which is live on Sky Box Office, have been going well, and despite all Hatton's efforts he will come up short in his big fight.
"We have been working with two former world champions in Lovemore N'dou and Carlos Baldomir along with some other great young fighters," Ellerbe added.
"Camp has been going real well.
"We have no concern about what Ricky Hatton is doing. We are approaching this fight like all the others. Floyd is always in tiptop shape as he always has been. He never takes any fighter lightly.
"He always has the same focus for his opponent no matter who it is and come December 8 he is going to show Ricky Hatton why there are different levels of boxing and why Hatton is not on Floyd's level."
Wayne McCullough liked what he saw as Ricky Hatton rolled back the years and silenced the doubters.
