Portugal remain top of Group H after a convincing win in Cyprus, while Norway are level on points after a narrow home success over Iceland.

Cristiano Ronaldo was in sparkling form again as the Real Madrid star scored twice and laid on another in Portugal's 4-0 triumph in Cyprus.

Ronaldo, who scored a hat-trick for Real last weekend, opened the scoring for his country on 36 minutes from the penalty spot after Cyprus' Sinisa Dobrasinovic was shown a second yellow card for bringing down Helder Postiga.

Fabio Coentrao hit the post after half-time and Cyprus continued to hold out until their resistance buckled by conceding three times in the final eight minutes.

Ronaldo took in Nani's pass and nonchalantly finished, before Hugo Almeida took in a ball from the man of the moment to add a third as Cyprus and goalkeeper Antonis Georgallides finally crumbled.

Danny's goal in injury-time, a neat effort after a Joao Moutinho tee-up, was a harsh reflection on the keeper but, with his team-mates unable to offer anything, the result was more than fair.

Norway kept their Euro 2012 qualifying hopes on track in Oslo after Mohamed Abdellaoui's penalty with two minutes to go earned a 1-0 win over Iceland.

Egil Olsen's side were enduring a frustrating evening and were denied the opening goal on 68 minutes when Alexander Tettey hit a powerful shot which cannoned back off the post.

West Ham striker John Carew replaced Christian Grindheim after 80 minutes as Olsen tried to boost his misfiring front line.

And the move paid dividends two minutes from time when Carew won a penalty for his side after he received a push in the back during a tussle with Stefan Magnusson.

Abdellaoui took the kick and added to the goalkeeper's misery with a cool left-footed strike into the top-right corner.
