Frei: Not concerned
Switzerland captain Alexander Frei insists he is not concerned after being jeered during the recent friendly with Australia.
The experienced striker, 31, has not scored for Switzerland in the last year and missed a penalty in the goalless draw with the Socceroos on Friday night, receiving whistles from the St Gallen crowd.
However, despite his recent international drought, Frei is expected to lead the line against England in the Euro 2012 qualifier on Tuesday and denies that he is low on confidence.
"I feel fine, I have scored lots of goals for my club in the last few weeks so my self belief is absolutely intact," he said
"My self belief has never been lacking, sometimes I have a bit more, sometimes a bit less.
"But when you work hard, when you train, when you score goals regularly in training, then you know you are going to end up scoring in a match."
Frei has hit 40 goals in 78 games for Switzerland and he refused to hit back at the boo boys.
"A fan pays a lot of money for a ticket, so he has the right to vent his displeasure," he added.
"It is up to the fan to decide in which way he does this, some players find it not correct that someone whistles when he is not satisfied with the team.
"I can certainly say that it does not help the team when they jeer."
