Ghana are awaiting confirmation that their game with Togo on Monday has been postponed following their withdrawal from the African Cup of Nations.

Togo flew home at the weekend after their coach was attacked and shot at by machine guns as they crossed the Angolan border killing the driver, the team's assistant manager and the press officer.

However confusion remains as to whether Togo have officially pulled out of the competition with some suggesting the squad could return to Angola with a number of players prepared to play on to honour the victims.

Ghana president Kwesi Nyantakyi admits he is unsure as to what is going on with neither the tournament organisers nor the Confederation of African Football giving him any indication of how the group will proceed without Togo.

"The Ghana Football Association has not been notified that our intended opponents for the first group match Togo will not honour the game," he told Ghana.org.

"The match co-ordinator for our group came to see us on Sunday evening but said nothing about the situation. CAF has not informed us that Group B will be a three-team group yet.

"But when it comes to that, we would have to be ready. Until CAF confirms that to us, we can't look at the next game."
