All the pre-Backlash hype was justified in an explosive night which saw Triple H claim the WWE title from Randy Orton at the 1st Mariner Arena.
The Game's deadly Pedigree did the damage once again as he regained the gold for the 12th time after a gruelling Fatal Four showdown with the Legend Killer, JBL and John Cena.
The self proclaimed "Wrestling God" JBL was the first to be eliminated after he found himself on the receiving end of a STFU from the Chain Gang Commander.
With JBL out of the frame, Orton pounced on Cena and unleashed a brutal kick to the challenger's skull. With Cena on dream street the champion snuck in a quick pin to set up a final two showdown with the Game.
Revenge was clearly staring menacingly into the eyes of the Cerebral Assassin as he looked to avenge his 'No Mercy' title defeat inflicted by Orton last year.
