As weeks go, this one has been pretty miserable for the Ultimate Opportunist after losing his World Heavyweight title and then his fiancée in the space on five days.

After having the gold stripped from his waist by RAW newcomer CM Punk on Monday Night, there was further misery endured by the former champ after he reduced Vickie Guerrero to tears on an emotional edition of SmackDown.

Still seething after his title loss, Edge unleashed his fury on the innocent Festus after he and Jesse had powered to victory over "Family" members Curt Hawkins & Zach Ryder moments earlier.

After spearing Festus in the middle of the ring, the Rated-R superstar ventured outside the squared circle to collect a steel chair before delivering a heart stopping blow the defenceless superstars' skull.

Fairytale

As Festus lay motionless in the centre of the ring, general manager Guerrero appeared at the top of the ramp to remonstrate with her fiancée.

After a brief altercation, Edge marched towards the GM and called off the wedding to the halation of the Oklahoma spectators.

Guerrero, however, crumbled into a weeping mess as her fairytale dreams to wed the 'man of her dreams' had been shattered on a bizarre, yet riveting night of SmackDown.
