Christian beat Jack Swagger - ECW Championship

Christian marked his WWE return with a sensational title win as Jack Swagger relinquished his ECW Championship at Backlash.

The victory saw Christian claim his first World singles title after previous reigns as Intercontinental Champion, World Tag Team Champion, Light Heavyweight Champion, Hardcore Champion and European Champion.

Jeff Hardy beat Matt - I Quit

In what was one of the most eagerly-anticipated matches of the evening, Jeff and Matt Hardy put on another epic exhibition of kamikaze athleticism before the former claimed the win.

Both superstars threw everything they had at each other in an attempt to make the other surrender before Jeff lined Matt up on a table before threatening to crush him from the top of the ladder. After pleading in fear, Matt eventually conceded by screaming "I quit". Despite surrendering, Jeff chose to plunge down upon his brother anyway.

Kane beat CM Punk

The Big Red Monster heaped revenge on CM Punk at Backlash after the Straightedge Superstar had twice thwarted him at the 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania and on RAW.

With the burning rage of those defeats still lingering in his mind, Kane delivered a devastating chokeslam on Mr. Money in the Bank in the centre of the ring to claim the pinfall win.

Chris Jericho beat Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat

Chris Jericho sunk WWE Hall of Famer Ricky Steamboat as he too helped erase the painful memories of Mickey Rourke and WrestleMania with victory in Rhode Island.

After being on the receiving end of a knockout blow from the Hollywood star after his win over the WWE Legends in Houston, Jericho responded with his trademark finisher the Walls of Jericho to make The Dragon tap out.
