The superstars of the WWE rolled into Sheffield, England for the latest date of their UK tour and fans were not disappointed after witnessing an epic edition of Friday Night Smackdown.

For the first time ever, World Heavyweight champion The Undertaker squared off against one half of the Unified Tag Team champions, Chris Jericho.

In an exciting main event encounter, The Deadman countered the Walls of Jericho and went onto record victory after executing a devastating Hell's Gate submission manoeuvre which Jericho tapped out to immediately.

The Big Show then came to the aid of his partner and both men proceeded to place The Deadman in a combination of two devastating manoeuvres, the Camel Clutch and the Walls of Jericho.

The Big Red Machine Kane then came to the aid of his defenceless brother, which gave WWE chairman Mr McMahon an idea for a match.

McMahon announced The Brothers of Destruction to team up and take on the Unified Tag Team champions next week on Friday Night Smackdown. It's a match you do not want to miss!

Elsewhere, straightedge superstar CM Punk avenged last week's defeat to R-Truth, but his victory came under controversial circumstances as Punk used the ropes, which the referee failed to notice, in order to secure the one-two-three.

Aggression

The Biggest Little Man Rey Mysterio and The Animal Batista took to the ring to confirm their upcoming match at Survivor Series.

The heated contract signing between the two superstars culminated in Mysterio launching a table unexpectedly which floored a surprised and angry Batista.

WWE Intercontinental champion John Morrison retained his title in an enthralling encounter against Dolph Ziggler. The match ended in a double count out after both men fell to the outside and failed to respond to a 10-count.

The two will face each other in the ring next week, this time in a 2 out of 3 falls match.

Drew McIntyre sent a message to Irishman Finlay after their match ended in a double disqualification. Both men had showed tremendous aggression towards each other but in the end, the Scotsman had the last laugh after he clubbed Finlay in the head with his own shillelagh.

In Divas action Natalya locked in a devastating sharpshooter manouvre to defeat Mickie James who had been distracted by rivals Layla and Women's champion Michelle McCool.

Meanwhile, The Glamazon Beth Phoenix continued her dominating streak, recording yet another emphatic victory, defeating local competitor Lisa Taylor.

In other news, ECW champion Christian defended his title against William Regal on the latest instalment of ECW which also emanated from Sheffield, England.

Despite Regal pulling out all the stops to the land the title on home soil, Captain Charisma managed to defeat his bitter rival, retaining ECW gold around his waist.
