Batista: chair shots
Batista's rivalry with The Undertaker took another cruel twist on the latest edition of Friday Night SmackDown.
After suffering Batista's brutal chair attack during his match with Chris Jericho one week ago, The Demon of Death Valley emerged to call-out his WWE TLC match opponent.
But, upon making his way to the ring, The Animal launched another surprise attack on The Deadman from behind, wielding a steel chair ferociously as he unleashed an all out massacre upon The Phenom.
A number of chair shots reigned down on the World Champion which culminated in a devastating spinebuster on a steel chair.
Batista then raised a floored Undertaker's World Title high above his head, to showcase his intent on defeating The Deadman next Sunday in their scheduled Chairs Match at WWE TLC.
Earlier in the night, SmackDown General Manager Theodore Long informed Batista that he would face 6-1-9 rival Rey Mysterio next week in a Street Fight Match.
The two former friends have not stepped into the ring with each other since The Animal pummelled Mysterio last month at Survivor Series.
Unified Tag Team champions Chris Jericho and Big Show recorded victory over Cryme Tyme. The World's Largest Athlete struck Shad with a devastating right hand blow, to win the match with a single punch.
The manner of the victory will be of great concern to Jerishow's WWE TLC opponents, D-Generation X, who could very well issue a statement of their own next Monday on RAW.
Drew McIntyre defeated Intercontinental Champion John Morrison in a non-title match. The Scotsman picked up what must be considered the biggest win of his career so far which came courtesy of a double underhook DDT manoeuvre.
Fan favourite R-Truth defeated CM Punk via disqualification following interference from Luke Gallows. Formally known as Festus, Gallows staged an attack which decimated Truth, to leave him lying motionless.
Elsewhere, The Big Red Machine Kane took care of Mike Knox with a brutal chokeslam whilst The Hart Dynasty defeated Eric Escobar in a Handicap Match.
Finally, Mickie James came out on top in a Triple Threat Match against Beth Phoenix and Natalya to become the new Number One contender for the Women's Championship.
