Quotes of the week
Oscar Pistorius, the double amputee sprinter known as 'the Blade runner', is predicting that the London 2012 Paralympics Games will be the best yet.
The Games, which are 1000 days away, are set to "blow the world away" according to the South African athlete.
He said: "It's going to blow the world away. It's going to be truly super, absolutely phenomenal."
The world record holder in the 100, 200 and 400 metres is set to be one of the stars of the XIV Paralympics having won three golds in Beijing last eyar, adding to his 200 metres in Athens four years previously.
After failing to qualify for the Olympics, Pistorius is hoping to go one better this time and participate in both sporting spectacles in London.
"I think the Olympics and Paralympics is going to be a step up," he added.
"When I've run in Scotland, Wales or England I've always felt like I'm extremely at home. It really makes an athlete's job so much easier when you have support when you're running," he added.
Swimmer Eleanor Simmonds, Britain's youngest individual champion in Beijing at 13, is also looking forward to competing on home soil.
She said: "The Paralympics is amazing anyway, but it's going to be even more amazing in front of a home crowd.
"We've got major competitions to think about first, but we're all looking forward to London."
