Team Sky carer Txema González died in a Seville hospital on Friday aged 43, the British team have announced.
Gonzalez died as a result of a bacterial infection which entered the bloodstream and caused septic shock.
Sky team principal Dave Brailsford said: "We are devastated to report that Txema tragically passed away on Friday evening in hospital in Seville. His close family were with him.
