Sky Sports has confirmed a new two-year deal for exclusive live high definition coverage of the Izod IndyCar Series.
Sky Sports will endeavour to screen live high definition coverage of all 17 events from the centennial year of the IndyCar Series - including the Indy 500 from the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in May.
The season begins with the streets of St Petersburg on March 27 and will also include races from Japan, Brazil and Canada.
The show will be presented by Keith Huewen, with Johnny Mowlem the regular studio analyst. Speaking about the new season, Keith said: "It's really exciting to have Indycar back on our screens, especially in HD.
"There is a lot of fantastic British talent in the sport at the moment, including current reigning champion Dario Franchitti. We've seen Dario's career come to life on Sky Sports, and over the next two years we will see the conclusion.

This is great news. Looks like Indycar is back to its old days back in the 90's I think that with more engines and chassis's it will draw more attention over the world. I cant stand that NASCAR! Go IndyCar

Good to hear about your coverage of IndyCar. I understand why you only need highlights of NASCAR. The only interesting moments are the start and the last 20 laps. Everything else is just big ugly cars running around in circles. Good Luck to Dario and let's hope Dan Wheldon gets a ride for the season.

Good News about Indy Cars, But what has happened to the live coverage of Nascar races. Some of the races may be a bit boring but there are a large number of exciting races as well. How about it Sky, bring them back.

Break open another case of Bud and rev those engines 'til they smoke. We've got ourselves a sport again!
It was another exhilarating year on both two and four wheels with motor sport again throwing up some unforgettable storylines.
