League Two preview

AFC Wimbledon only began in 2002 following Wimbledon's move to Milton Keynes and they kick off the new campaign with a home game against ex-League One side Bristol Rovers.

Fellow newly-promoted side Crawley Town are the Manchester City of lower league football and few would bet against them performing well. Port Vale stand in their way in Saturday's season opener.

Swindon Town begin life with Paolo Di Canio at the helm with a home game against a Crewe side who finished just three points outside last season's play-off positions.

Plymouth also came down from League One and the financially-challenged side will be up against it at Shrewsbury Town, who only lost three times on home soil last term.

Dagenham were the fourth and final side to lose their League One status after being overhauled by Walsall and they mark their return to League Two with an away trip to Macclesfield Town.

Accrington will be hoping to start the campaign as they finished it last term with a superb second half of the season run moving them into the play-off places. Northampton away is first up for Stanley.

Torquay, like Accrington, missed out on promotion via the play-offs last season and they will be confident of beginning the campaign on a positive note against a Burton side who failed to travel well last season.

Bradford City finished last season closer to the relegation trapdoor than they would prefer and they start the new term with a home game against Aldershot, who claimed a 14th place finish.

Barnet avoided the drop by just one point despite the loss of manager Martin Allen, who walked out on the club after just 19 days, and they kick off the season at Morecambe.

Oxford United made their Football League return following a four-year exile last season and they begin this term with a fixture against Rotherham and free-scoring striker Adam Le Fondre.
