Paul Peschisolido is proud of Burton after they suffered a valiant defeat at the hands of Burnley in their Carling Cup clash.

Albion were 3-1 down with five minutes remaining before fighting back to 3-3 to force extra-time.

But Burnley striker Jay Rodriguez proved the difference, as the England Under-21 international hit his third and fourth goals of the night in extra time to lead his Championship side to a 6-3 victory.

Despite the disappointment, Peschisolido had only praise for his battling side.

"We kept going in the 90 minutes, when we countered we looked more dangerous but our final pass wasn't there," he told BBC Radio Derby.

"Credit to them they're a good side but I'm proud of the boys."
