Rajevac: Proud
Ghana coach Milovan Rajevac was proud of his side after the Black Stars lost their World Cup quarter-final on penalties to Uruguay.
Sulley Muntari put Ghana ahead on the stroke of half-time but Diego Forlan scored 10 minutes after the interval to send the last-eight clash into extra-time.
Luis Suarez was then sent off at the death for deliberating handling Dominic Adiyiah's goalbound header but Asamoah Gyan crashed the subsequent penalty against the crossbar.
In the penalty shoot-out, John Mensah and Adiyiah had their efforts saved as Uruguay won 4-2 to progress to face Holland in the semi-finals.
The defeat meant the Black Stars missed out on becoming the first African team to win through to the semi-finals after Cameroon (1990) and Senegal (2002) had also fallen in the last eight.
Rajevac said: "All I can say is this is football.
"It was a very difficult game for us because in the previous game (against USA) we also played for 120 minutes and in the end we had the historic opportunity to reach the semi-final and we had the penalty.
"We have to be proud of what we have achieved. This is sport and justice. Today Uruguay were the lucky ones."
