Gradel: Elephants call
Leeds United's Max Gradel could win his first international cap after being called into Ivory Coast's squad to play Benin next Saturday.
The talented winger, who has been one of Leeds' stand-out players this season, won his maiden call-up against Poland last November, but did not make the final squad.
Gradel has an impressive 14 Championship goals from 33 appearances as Leeds find themselves challenging for a play-off spot following promotion from League One.
The 23-year-old will fly to Africa on Monday ahead of Ivory Coast's clash against Benin in an African Nations Group H qualifier in Ghana.
Gradel is Leeds' sixth player called up for international duty of late with both Neil Kilkenny and Davide Somma called up by Australia and South Africa respectively while Ramon Nunez (Honduras) and Scottish duo Robert Snodgrass and Barry Bannan could also add to their tallies.
"It's good for the players and it's good for the club that players are being recognised for an opportunity in international football," manager Simon Grayson told the club's official website.
