Didier Drogba scored twice as the Ivory Coast beat Benin 2-1 to maintain their 100 per cent record in African Nations Cup qualifying.

Ghana and Sudan continued to dominate Group I with convincing wins.

The Black Stars won 3-0 in Congo thanks to goals from Prince Tagoe, Dominic Adiyiah and Sulley Muntari, while Sudan beat Swaziland by the same score.

Nigeria moved to within a point of Guinea at the top of Group B thanks to a convincing 4-0 win over Ethiopia.

Peter Utaka put the Super Eagles ahead inside the first minute and the Odense striker doubled his side's advantage before two late Ikechukwu Uche goals completed the rout.

Guinea could only manage a 1-1 draw in Madagascar. Yvan Rajaonarimana put the home team in front after 17 minutes, with Djoulde Bah equalising for the visitors 10 minutes from time.

Zambia moved to the top of Group C with a 2-0 win in Maputo against Mozambique.

James Chamanga put the visitors ahead in the first half and Emmanuel Mayuka added a second in injury time.

The other match in the section - between Libya and Comoros - is being played on Monday and has been switched from troubled Tripoli to Bamako in Mali.

DR Congo moved level on four points with second-placed Cameroon in Group E after beating Mauritius 3-0.

A Lomana LuaLua penalty set the home side on their way with Matumona Zola and another spot-kick, this time from Diba Ilunga, rounding off the scoring.

Niger hit back from a goal down to beat Sierra Leone 3-1 and close to within a point of Group G leaders South Africa.
