AFC Wimbledon midfielder Rashid Yussuff admits he will play in any position just to get a place in the starting line-up.

The 21-year-old was left out of the matchday squad completely in last Tuesday's loss against Northampton after having started on the bench in the previous two games.

"We have a big squad here with 25 players now fit," Yussuff told the Hounslow Chronicle. "Everyone in the squad knows that we are all fighting for a place and no one has a guaranteed spot in the team. But every time I get a chance, then I have got to perform and do well for the team.

Yussuff returned from the bench for the second half against Cheltenham on Saturday, claiming a goal and an assist, and he hopes that his performance will have put him in the thoughts of manager Terry Brown.

"For me to get back in and score was good for me. I will do my work for the team and if that involves getting tackles in further back then so be it.

"I prefer a more attacking role, but I will do a job in whatever position the manager chooses to play me in."
