Augsburg have been rocked by the news Dawda Bah will be out for six months with a serious knee injury.

The 27-year-old only just signed for the club last month from HJK Helsinki but will now be out for six months after damaging his cartilage in training on Thursday.

He has already undergone surgery on the injury as the Bundesliga outfit try and make his recovery as swift as possible.

Bah, who is a Gambia international, made his debut against Bayer Leverkusen last Friday when he came on as a substitute for the last 13 minutes.

Services

But it will now be some time before coach Jos Luhukay will be able to call on his services again.

Augsburg's general manager, Andreas Rettig, told the club's official website: "It is particularly bitter for Dawda.

"He and we had all imagined a different start to his career with Augsburg, but we also know that he is in the best hands in clinic here in Augsburg and we wish him all the best and all the strength he needs in his recovery."
