Lucie Safarova bounced back from defeat in the French Open women's singles final to claim the women's doubles title alongside Bethanie Mattek-Sands.

Safarova went down in three sets to Serena Williams in Saturday's singles final but finally claimed a first Roland Garros title when she partnered Mattek-Sands to a 3-6 6-4 6-2 win over Casey Dellacqua and Yaroslava Shvedova.

Mattek-Sands also won the mixed doubles title with Mike Bryan on Thursday and she was winning a second Grand Slam title in tandem with Safarova.

They also won the Australian Open title in January so are halfway to the doubles calendar-year Grand Slam, with Wimbledon and the US Open to come later in the summer.
