Martina Hingis completed a Wimbledon doubles double as she added victory in the mixed event to the women's title.

The Swiss, who won the girls' singles title aged 13 in 1994, the women's doubles with Helena Sukova at 15 in 1996, and the women's singles at 16 in 1997, had gone 17 years without any trophy success at the All England Club until this fortnight.

But she ended that drought with women's doubles success alongside Sania Mirza on Saturday night, and teamed up with Mirza's fellow Indian Leander Paes to take mixed doubles glory.

They swept to it in fine style as well, winning 6-1 6-1 against Austrian Alexander Peya and Hungarian Timea Babos on Centre Court.

Hingis, who also teamed up with Jana Novotna to win the women's doubles in 1998, partnered 42-year-old Paes for Grand Slam duty at the start of this year, having played together in World Team Tennis for the Washington Kastles in the United States.

They won the Australian Open together and now have another major title.

"It's pretty exciting to come out and play like this in the finals of a Grand Slam," Hingis, 34, said.

More from Wimbledon 2015

"I had a good night sleep after yesterday's win and I was ready to go all the way.

"Leander was hitting winners left, right and centre.

"The way we play together is a great match. Leander is a great person. We practise together and make each other better.

"Now I just really enjoy it. It's much different to when I was 17. Back then you didn't have time (to appreciate it). Singles is much more stressful. We just go out and enjoy it and bring the title home."

For Hingis it was a 13th Grand Slam doubles title to go with her five singles slams, and she reiterated her interest in going for Olympic gold next year with Switzerland, having approached Roger Federer and Stan Wawrinka over possible doubles bids. Paes now has 16 doubles slams.
