Rafa Nadal takes on Stan Wawrinka on the second day of the ATP World Tour Finals at The O2 in London.

British No 1 and second seed Andy Murray beat David Ferrer in the day's opening doubles match, while French Open champion Wawrinka faces Nadal in the evening match.

Wawrinka faces Nadal in what is sure to be a fascinating contest. Nadal leads their head-to-head record 13-3, but Wawrinka has won three of the past four meetings.

Nadal missed out last year at the O2 due to an appendectomy, and will be targeting his first ATP Finals title having finished runner-up twice before.

Rafael Nadal says he will give his best as always at the ATP World Tour Finals, but his priority is to prepare for next season

He has shown signs of improvement in the latter part of the season, reaching the quarter-finals of the Paris Masters where he lost narrowly in two sets to Wawrinka.

The Spaniard has won three titles in 2015, but quarter-final exits at both the Australian Open and French Open, followed by early exits at Wimbledon and the US Open ended Nadal's record 10-year streak of winning at least one major.
