ATP Open de Nice Cote d'Azur: Gael Monfils reaches first ATP final in over a year
Home favourite Gael Monfils continued his return to prominence by reaching the final of the Open de Nice Cote d'Azur.

The home favourite missed much of last season with a knee problem and suffered through indifferent for at the start of this year, dropping to 109 in the world rankings.
But Monfils got the winning feeling back by triumphing in a Challenger event in Bordeaux last week and made it nine victories in a row by defeating Spain's Andujar 7-5 6-4 in the Nice semi-final.
It is the first time the Frenchman has reached a final on the ATP Tour proper since February 2012, when he finished runner-up in Montpellier.
In the final he will meet another Spaniard, Albert Montanes, who reached his first Tour final in almost two years with a 6-4 4-6 6-0 victory over France's Edouard Roger-Vasselin.
