The Wimbledon champion is among a host of top players - including Rafael Nadal and Serena Williams - to be signed up for the end-of-season competition at a draft in Dubai.
His team-mates will include French star Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, Victoria Azarenka, the women's world No 4, rising Belgian star Kirsten Flipkens and ex-French Open champion Carlos Moya.
World No 1 Nadal will play for Mumbai, while Williams joins fellow American Andre Agassi in the Singapore team.
Novak Djokovic will have fellow-Serb Janko Tipsarevic, ex-world No 1 Caroline Wozniacki and Arab No1 Malek Jaziri as his team-mates.
Matches will be played on a round-robin basis in Singapore, Bangkok, Mumbai and Dubai between November 28 and December 13.
Teams will be able to add up to 10 players to their rosters.
The IPTL is the brainchild of doubles legend Mahesh Bhupathi to promote tennis in Asia.
Bhupathi said: "We've got some unbelievably strong teams. I think out of the 28 players that got drafted we have about 21 Grand Slam champions. We have 14 present and past number ones. It's a pretty blockbuster field."
The draft system is partly inspired by that used by the Indian Premier League in cricket.
The matches will be over the best of five sets, with each set to be played in a different format - men's singles, women's singles, men's doubles, mixed doubles and men's legends.
