Bulgarian star Dimitrov was handed a place in the final after his opponent Gael Monfils was forced to retire because of an ankle injury.
The Frenchman, seeded third, turned his ankle as he walked out on court, and managed only 16 minutes when he trailed 5-1 before withdrawing.
It was not the way the 22-year-old Dimitrov, looking to claim a third ATP title and boost his 16th place in the world rankings, wanted to progress.
Dimitrov said: "It is disappointing for Gael. As much as I am happy, it is an undeserved win and unfortunately it had to end that way. I saw what happened. I hope he will be okay for the coming weeks."
Rosol also progressed through to Sunday's final.
The Czech ace came from a set down to beat Dutchman Robin Haase 3-6 6-3 6-2.
After his victory 28-year-old Rosol said: "We have never played each other. I think he is the favourite, but I have nothing to lose.
"I like playing on this court, and I will fight to the end."
