Sports events throughout the country will fall silent today in tribute to the victims of the Tunisia terror attack.

The world of tennis, Formula One, football and Cricket will all join in the national minute's silence at midday.

Wimbledon organisers confirmed that tennis matches will start later than normal to ensure players, staff and spectators can pay their respects to the 38 people, including 30 Britons, who were killed by a gunman on a Tunisian beach a week ago.

Formula One teams will also fall silent at Silverstone ahead of this weekend's British Grand Prix while players from Australia and Essex will observe the silence during the tour match in Chelmsford.

The scheduled race at Henley Regatta has also been put back until after the silence is over.
