Monaco sets up clash in last eight with Albert Montanes
Top seed Juan Monaco dropped just three games as he cruised into the quarter-finals of the VTR Open in Vina del Mar.
The Argentinian beat Russian Igor Andreev in an hour and a quarter, winning 6-2 6-1 to set up a clash with fifth seed Albert Montanes.
Monaco told atptour.com: "It was my first clay match of the year and sometimes you're not sure on how you'll play, so I'm very happy about the level I had."
Spaniard Montanes came through his second-round clash with Brazilian qualifier Rogerio Dutra Silva 7-5 6-2 .
Meanwhile, Frederico Gil beat fourth seed Pablo Andujar 6-2 6-1 to set up a meeting with Jeremy Chardy after the Frenchman saw off Leonardo Mayer 7-5 6-2.
