Marin Cilic has been quietly surging up the field and has just reached a career-high of 13th in the world rankings.
The gigantic 6ft 6in right-hander has collected two titles so far this season, tasting victory in both Chennai and Zagreb, but neither of those came on the clay and the 20-year-old's record on the red stuff does not make for pleasant reading.
Cilic's forward-thinking game is not at all compatible with the slower surface played at Roland Garros. Throw in the fact the Croatian only made the second round of the tournament on his debut last season, and it leaves little hope of an appearance in the second week this year.
Certainly one to watch in the coming months and years though.
