Player Profile

The Serbian star appears to be returning to something like his best form after a somewhat disappointing year.

When Novak Djokovic reached the final here two years ago and then won his maiden Grand Slam at the Australian Open a few months later, it seemed he was ready to challenge the Federer-Nadal duopoly at the top of the game.

However, he's since slipped back and seen Andy Murray emerge as a major threat.

Yet Djokovic certainly has the talent to respond. His game is well suited to all surfaces and he will arrive here fearing no-one, knowing on his day he can beat the best.

His warm-up results will have raised confidence - a run to the last eight in Montreal being followed by a final appearance in Cincinnati where Nadal was beaten before Federer got the better of him.

Has yet to go past the quarter-finals at the Slams this season, but this could be the time when that record improves.
