Rafael Nadal is still regarded as the world's best player but heads to Wimbledon on the back of his crushing disappointment at the French Open.
The Spaniard was bidding for a fifth successive crown on the Roland Garros clay but instead was on the receiving end of perhaps the biggest upset in tennis history as he slipped to a dramatic four-set defeat against Robin Soderling in the fourth round.
Indeed it was Nadal's first ever defeat at the French Open following a record 31 consecutive wins and ended his hopes - for the time being at least - of being the only player to win title five years on the trot.
Now the focus turns to the grass of SW19 but the defending champion's preparations have been far from ideal due to a knee injury which forced him to pull out of the AEGON Championships at Queen's Club.
Certainly if he's fit to play then we can expect to see more of his relentless and tireless approach to the game which has seen him grind so many opponents over the years into submission.
Last year's final triumph against Roger Federer was an absolute epic as he was finally able to dethrone the Wimbledon king at the third time of asking and surely the vast majority of tennis fans across the globe will be itching for another absorbing dual between the two greats once again.
