Player Profile

The big-hitting Czech has been flying high this season, his best effort coming in Miami where he reached the final only to lose to Andy Roddick.

A huge serve is backed up with fearsome groundstrokes and although he's no slouch on clay, the surface does not play to his true strengths.

That's reflected by his woeful Roland Garros record - only once in six attempts has Berdych gone beyond the second round.

Has a reputation for feeling the pressure in big matches - his Grand Slam record as a whole is not great - and with poor clay form it's hard to see him still being around at the business end of proceedings in Paris.
