Cilic - Australian Open semi-finalist.

Player Profile

This talented 21-year-old looks set for a big future in the game.

Made a big breakthrough by reaching the semi-finals of the Australian Open in January, where he lost to Andy Murray, and he also won titles in Chennai and Zagreb in the early part of the season.

Things tailed off a little on the clay, although he did reach the last 16 of the French Open.

His big-hitting game is more suited to the grasscourts and if the draw is on his side, Cilic looks capable of getting to the quarter-finals in SW19 for the first time.

Ideally he'll be wanting to follow in the footsteps of fellow Croat Goran Ivanisevic, who won here in 2001. Cilic certainly has the coaching team in place to help him do so - he's been working with Ivanisevic and his former coach Bob Brett to help him achieve that goal.
