(14) Juan Carlos Ferrero

  • DOB: 12/02/1980
  • Nationality: ESP
  • Became Pro: 1998
  • Height: 1.83
Ferrero - former world number one.

Player Profile

Prior to the 2009 grasscourt season, this former world number one had dropped out of the top 100 in the rankings.

However, a return to the English grass gave the Spaniard the shot in the arm he needed.

He reached the the semi-finals at Queen's Club before making the last eight at Wimbledon, losing on both occasions to Andy Murray.

Ferrero may be better known for his claycourt prowess - he won the French Open back in 2003 and has two titles on the surface this season - but clearly he can play on grass and will fancy his chances of another decent run in SW19.

A dangerous player the big names will be keen to avoid.
