Player Profile

The beaten finalist at the recent French Open was one of the stars of the claycourt campaign.

No-one has won more matches on the surface this season than the Australian, although she found Francesca Schivaone too good in the final in Paris.

Her muscular physique and impressive kick serve had taken her to the brink of Grand Slam glory but he spin element of her game won't cause so many problems on the faster grass.

Indeed, while Stosur has gone deep at the French Open both this year and last, she has never been past the third round in SW19.

She could therefore be one to oppose at this year's championships.
