Youzhny - semi-finalist in 2006.

Player Profile

A former semi-finalist in New York, the temperamental Russian has been a permanent fixture in the top 20 this season.

Youzhny's best performance in a Grand Slam came in 2006 when he reached the last four of the US Open before falling to home favourite Andy Roddick.

After reaching a career-high eight in the world back in 2007, the talented right-hander has been floating around the higher end of the top 100 after failing to maintain his form.

But a solid spell at the tail end of the 2009 campaign - capped off by victory in Munich - has seen the 28-year-old re-enter the top 20 and cement his place in the higher echelons of the tour.

Blessed with a sweet one-handed backhand, Youzhny can cause his opponents trouble when on song, but more often than not, his frail mental state gets the better of him (search for him on YouTube to know what we mean) and he cannot be considered a major player at this year's tournament.

A kind draw is also essential if he is to reach the second week.
