Berdych is best known for his run to the Wimbledon final in 2010.

There he put his big serve and brutal forehand to good use. The backhand, however, is a weakness his rivals can prey on.

The Czech star backed up his impressive 2010 campaign last season by qualifying for the ATP World Tour Finals - he reached the semi-finals - but he failed to have such a big impact at the Slams.

Berdych made the quarter-finals here in 2011 - his best-ever run at the event - before losing to eventual champion Novak Djokovic. It was to prove his best effort in the four majors.

Shaved off all his hair after that Tour Finals run in London following a bet with his coach. We await to see the state of his head in Melbourne.

Capable of causing an upset or two, but seems an unlikely winner.
