Tsonga is another player who will arrive at Melbourne Park with a 'dark horse' label attached to him.

The Frenchman, renowned for his exuberant, thumbs-in-the-air victory celebration, has been in great form for months.

He won in Metz and Vienna back in the autumn and then pushed Roger Federer the distance at the ATP World Tour Finals in London.

Tsonga has started 2012 where he left off too, winning the warm-up tournament in Doha, which means he has reached the final in five of the last eight tournaments he has played in.

The Muhammad Ali lookalike is well known to Australian Open fans and is sure to be well supported Down Under.

He enjoyed a spectacular run here in 2008, defeating Andy Murray and Rafael Nadal en route to the final where Novak Djokovic eventually proved too good.

His forehand is to be feared, while his powerful serve will also win him plenty of points.

One to watch.
