Like the better-known Lindsay Davenport, Bammer is something of a rarity in the fact that she is a mother who is competing on the WTA Tour. Gave birth to a daughter, Tina, in 2001, at which stage her career did not appear to be going anywhere fast. Won on the ITF circuit on her return to action and began a steady climb up the rankings which took her into the top 20 at the end of last year. Form is patchy at present though, so don't expect mircales.
