Bjorn Borg told Sky Sports News that Andy Murray will be a future Grand Slam winner.
The five times Wimbledon champion believes Murray has the ability to beat any player in the world and revealed it was only a matter of time before he won his first Grand Slam title.
"He's a player that can play on any type of surface and I know he wants to do well here at Wimbledon," said Borg. "He can beat anyone and he can win any kind of tournament."
Following Tim Henman's retirement from professional tennis last year, the hopes and dreams of an entire nation will be resting on the shoulders of Murray for the first time when Wimbledon begins on Monday.
Standing in his way of glory will be the daunting prospect of five times champion Roger Federer along with this year's French Open winner Rafael Nadal and Australian Open champion Novak Djokovic.
However Borg expects the British number one to go further than he ever has done before at SW19, if he plays to his full potential.
"Maybe he's not ready to win Wimbledon this year, but if he plays well he's going to go very far in the tournament," he said.
"In the future I see him as a Grand Slam winner and maybe one day he will be the champion here at Wimbledon."
