Andy Murray will start the defence of his Wimbledon crown with a match against Belgium’s world No 104 David Goffin.

Murray, who last summer became the first Briton to lift the men’s singles title in 77 years, will open proceedings on Centre Court on Monday afternoon.

Novak Djokovic, the man Murray beat in the final 12 months ago and the top seed this time around, has been drawn to face Andrey Doulev the world No 55.

Murray – the world No 5 and No 3 seed – and Djokovic are in the top half of the draw, and could meet up again at the semi-final stage.

Murray's potential quarter-final opponent could be either Spaniard David Ferrer or reigning Queen's Club champion Grigor Dimitrov, seeded No 7 and 11 respectively.

In the bottom half, the No 2 seed Rafa Nadal will start against Martin Klizan, with Roger Federer – the seven-time champion – taking on Italian Paolo Lorenzi.

Dan Evans, the British No 2, faces Russian Andrey Kuznetsov who is ranked 30 places higher up the ranking at 114.

But a tricky start for Britain’s third highest ranked player James Ward who must overcome the No 17 seed from Russia Mikhail Youzhny.

Another Brit, Kyle Edmund (No 284), will come up against Austrian Andreas Haider-Maurer (96).
