Top seed Serena Williams cruised into the third round of Wimbledon with a 6-1 6-1 victory against Channelle Scheepers.
The five-time champion was playing doubles until 9pm with sister Venus on Wednesday night but showed no ill-effects when she took to Court One 16 hours later.
Williams dropped just three games in her opening contest of the tournament and was even more clinical against South African outsider Scheepers.
The world No 1 needed just 49 minutes to get the job done, sending down eight aces and blasting 26 winners on Court One.
"I do like to feel great in the beginning, but I think it's also important not to peak too soon, keep working on your game, always have room for improvement."
"I feel OK. I don't want to feel great necessarily right now because hopefully I have several more matches I can play. But the goal for me is just to feel a little better every day," Williams said.
"I do like to feel great in the beginning, but I think it's also important not to peak too soon, keep working on your game, always have room for improvement.
"I think in general I always have room for improvement in my game. I feel there are some things I still want to work on to hopefully stay in the tournament."
Williams will next face 25th seed Alize Cornet, who beat her in Dubai earlier this year.
Williams added: "Cornet, she does everything good. That's why she was able to get a good win off of me. She never gives up, she's a big fighter. She gets a lot of balls back.
"But I'm ready. It's time for me to step up my game and do what I know I can do and do what I'm best at."
Elsehwere in the women's draw, former world No 1 Ana Ivanovic eased into the last 32 with a 6-4 6-0 victory over Jie Zheng.
The Serbian, who won the grass-court Aegon Classic in the lead up to Wimbledon, had no problems dealing with a player who reached the semi-finals at the All England Club six years ago.
Ivanovic will next play last year's runner-up Sabine Lisicki also made it through to the third round with a 6-3 7-5 victory against Karolina Pliskova.
