Yes,this is the best match ever played in Tennis history. Cruel thing about sports is,only one person goes with the cup. Last two times it was Roger and now it is Rafael! They have raised the level of game, and I will love to see them in Wimbledon Center Court Finals again and again and again....

A true game of inspiration, attitude, mental strength and of course reigning the title of being No.1. The splendid performance of the two players just keeps you mesmerized by how a game can dominate your state of mind and peace and yet at the same time truly played keeping the Gentleman¿s spirit. It was very sad seeing the world champion, go away right in front of you just like that, but again that is Wimbledon. Grass is so Federer¿s domination and with poise was outplayed by the Spaniard. An absolute humble human who still thinks he has a potential to play better than he can, and yet seeing the sad eyes of Federer¿s keeps you wondering exactly what state of mind are you in.? Does it actually make you sad seeing one champion simply going away or is it the joy of seeing the domination in the hands of power and poise. Nevertheless a truly outstanding Men¿s final ever to be seen, and truly questions the minds of the critics and the wishers who exactly is the No. One player in the world. Federer still has the US open in November to prove his credentials, well it is actually not correct to say ¿prove his credentials¿ but again as the critics put it he indeed has his era coming to an end. It will always be a thirst to see him win 6 great titles in one row, but again as Bjorg says one of the finest treats to the eyes has been Wimbledon 2008. A standing ovation and a genuine tribute to both Federer and Nadal. Cheers to the true Game spirit.

it was amazing final. i havent seen such a final in men tennis. whether nadal is the new king of tennis remains to be seen because roger will be back next year and even this year both can clash in the final of US open however for the moment nadal has emerged as better player of the two. it was spectacular to see nadal getting better of one of the greatest player ever to grace game of tennis on his favourite turf.

Ohhhh yesssss! What an epic, truly classic final? By far the best ever tennis match I have ever seen in my short lifetime. This two guys are amazing and its good for the game. I was in for Nadal though, and throughout the 5th set my heart rate and blood pressure were both above the normal limit as if I was running a marathon. The game started 6:20am Seattle time, and even though I worked the previous night, I spent another 7 hours watching this match before going to bed at 1:30pm. At the end of the day I said to myself "ugh, I nearly miss the best tennis match ever played in this wonderful world"

all i can say is absolutely unbelievable.the quality of tennis from both was beyond belief and the thing is the quality never dropped even considering the rain delays,i'm a federer fan but hats off to rafa for never giving up and to roger for coming from two sets down and match points down, just shows what an awesome player federer really is when up against an exceptional player like rafa at the moment, the best final i've seen,a huge credit to both players,i won't be forgetting that final for a good while, watching tennis at the moment has never been so enjoyable, fantastic.

Freakishly incredible tennis from the 2 best in the business. There's Federer, Nadal, maybe Djokovic a bit behind, then everyone else lightyears away. Including Andy "Neanderthal" Murray. An amazing exhibition, with tremendous sportsmanship shown... just subliminal! Heartbreaking for Roger (I was so gutted for him), hopefully he'll take that title back next year. And if you don't agree with that, shuddap yur face, you son'o'ma'gun.

This was indeed one of the best finals I have ever watched. Nadal was superb during the match. Federer somehow was "NOT at his usual best". His movements were slow. It felt like, he was under mental pressure of defending the title for the "SIXTH" time in a row. - Hrishikesh

The best tennis match i have ever watched between these two great champions.Certainly the best match ever. They showd us everything that any other great tennis player from long back would have produced, absolutely fantastic to watch,i wish they were playing doubles against each other again soon.Only if everyone could play with such passion and comtment, welldone Nadal.I had a feeling that the match was going to be difficult for Nadal certainly but Nadal was going to win,as was the case. I stayed up all night waiting for the final set after that 2 all sets stopped by the rain, and there he was with terrific energy and confidence that his time had come. I am happy for him and Spain,oh they won the Euro 2008 too hey, weldone Spain. He is not not done that young man, watch out, he is really coming and motivated now especvially after beating the world champion. Is he far away from becoming world champion himself?bEST MATCH EVER GUYS ,CONGRATS NADAL,touch Federer, you lost it in the first two sets and coming back from 2 nil down to win it all was going to take something of extra quality.Sorry but great match it was, dont know how to explain it.Thanks for the match though. rivaldointe@yahoo.co.uk

Yeah definitely one of the best finals i have seen i think the one played by rafter and goran which goran won was also very special it was a five set match with every thrill involved in it. Nadal really deserved to win yesterday his performance was really special. At last but not the least this was definitely the longest final i have with 2 rain interruptions.

Superb tennis..... All you could ever want in a great match, both players were amazing but Rafa deserved to take the title he was an immense force against a man who has triumphed so many times & been on the top of his game for many years. I think Rafa has now made his mark in the tennis world & proved he is set to become mens greatest ever tennis player.

Congratulations must also go to whichever Williams sister won the women's final ! Picking up the same money as Nadal for that paltry effort must rank as one of the greatest coups of all time.

It was truly a wonderful match. The match was thrilling as it went on for 5 hours. The rain too created a great thrilling feeling. Nadal played very well. But Roger, for the first time lost to a young player. Anyway he was also a king in the battle.....

Of course Federer will be back. He's not actually gone, yet. Runner up isn't bad. Like Darth Vader, Nadal is "more machine than man". Many speculate he is "pumped up" either off season or during hiatus, and he may have narrowly escaped an EPO crack down by suddenly opting out of play. Muscle out grows tendons which might be why his knees are taped up and covered by leggings, and what he picks at by speculation could be a tensor brace supporting his hips. He is more muscular each year and is getting vascular, now. He does well on clay or grass perhaps because those surfaces are more forgiving than hard court to someone who's in constant pain. You'll likely see him opt out of a few hard court tournaments. Uncle controls him but Nadal's health will pay in the end. I know, I know they are tested but there are masking agents and timing and contacts come into play. Federer still doesn't appear well and I can't recall seeing that spot on his right cheek last year. It's not sour grapes as I feel Henin was the most enjoyable player to watch, male or female and I'd like to see Gasquet get the monkey off his back.

Fascinating tennis throughout the match. Great strength and determination shown from both players. I am a fan of Federer but Nadal deserved to win it. However, there is no shame to Federer as he really gave in the fight. It was breathtaking tennis and simply a classic. Definitely the best I've ever seen.

Great Match, one of the best in years, however Tennis has been on a slide since great players like Lendl, McEnroe, Becker , Agassi, Sampras retired. Today's game doesn't have the excitement of the past...

Great final indeed. Interestingly, the last time a Spaniard was the mens singles champion at Wimbledon, Spain were also the reigning European champions of football. It's been a wonderful few weeks to be a Spain/Rafa supporter. Long may both continue to enthrall and entertain us.

Well I can't say anything different to what the other people have said...but I will ...Absolutely terrific tennis from both guys, but I have to say I was rooting for Nadal and I'm chuffed to bits for the man, simply because he has had to adapt his game for grass and boy didn't he do well... I really thought it was all over in the tie-breaker when he was 5-2 up but credit to Federer for coming back and at one point I thought he was just going to up his game and take it away but even more credit to Rafa for just not fading away like some others guy would.. A really epic final and I hope there is more to come next year and without rain delays because the roof will be on then!!
