An incredible, incredible final! Words can't describe the emotion of that match. Federer is certainly an unbelievable player to have that many unforced errors and still take it to five sets and 9-7 in the last - the greatest grass court player ever in my opinion. But well done to Rafa - he proved he too is a great player and has impressive mental strength with all the championship points he had and lost. Epic, unforgettable match that should go down as the best tennis match of the modern era between two future all-time greats.

I think this was a CLASSIC final and probably equally as good as Borg vs McEnroe. Wow what a final and Nadal deserved to win... I hope people give him the respect he deserves now! Now for the No.1 spot Rafa, please.

Not just the best final I've ever seen. Not far off the best sporting event, and definitely the best battle of wills.

What a final. Both great champions and really neither man deserved to lose. However I was rooting for Rafa as he hasn't won it before. But it's hard to say Federer is in decline after that match, just that he came out as a marginal loser to a guy who was and is continuously improving. It will be a challenge now to see how Nadal can perform on the hard courts and perhaps win the other 2 slams. I wouldn't put it past him to win those as well. Two great champions and 2 classy guys. It is obvious there is real respect betwen them too. By the way, Rafa please marry me!

Definitely the best final ever, the shots were better than ever, the match had everything, and despite rain falling, they both played like true champions! Well done, Rafa... what a rollercoaster, never seen anything like it.

That had to be the greatest final of all time, with two of the great warriors fighting almost to the death. I'm so glad for Rafa, glad that he got to beat Federer at the championships while he is still at the pinnacle of the game and glad that he did it by staying true to his morals and never giving in. It looked so much like going Federer's way when he got back to two sets each, but Nadal triumphed where so many others would have caved in, and for that he is a true champion. Hats off to the Great Man all the same, while he did not make it 6 in a row, he certainly played his part in the best day ever at SW14. Looking forward to his reply next year.

The best final ever!! I've seen a few, I'm 59. That boy deserves to be so proud!! What a match!! Federer is a great sportsman, and acknowledged that "the best man won". Won't forget this game in a hurry.

I think that if we are talking in the same breath as the above mentioned classics then this must be the best, because of the fantastic standard of tennis it produced... shots that have never been seen before...

Definitely the best standard of tennis ever in a final! Neither player deserved to lose! Unbelievable spirit from Nadal to come back after losing the 3 and 4 sets + having 2 championship points! Not only was the standard superb, the entertainment factor too was also spectactular! Every point was on a knife-edge!. For pure viewing pleasure it's on a par (if not better than) the 2001 final with Goran and Rafter on people's monday! Great final! Best ever! Can't wait for next year for a repeat from the 2 best players on the planet!

By far the absolutely best men's final I have ever seen, and I never saw a guy who gave every ounce of his being to win something, he certainly earned that title . A proud moment for him, his family and his country!
