Tottenham are set to contest the north London derby against Arsenal on Sunday, live on Sky Sports, with the stakes far higher than just bragging rights.

Spurs must sustain their title challenge while the Gunners are playing catch up in the race for the top four.

One player who could prove decisive at White Hart Lane is Tottenham striker Harry Kane, who boasts a spectacular goalscoring record in England's capital.

Kane has scored 18 goals in 25 London derbies in the Premier League - the second-best goals per game ratio in such derbies (0.72 goals per game) of players to play in five or more.

It is a record that places him just behind Thierry Henry (0.73 goals per game) but ahead of Jurgen Klinsmann (0.65 goals per game).

Of active players, West Ham playmaker Manuel Lanzini is closest to Kane, having scored eight goals in 13 London derbies.

Harry Kane helped Tottenham beat Crystal Palace on Wednesday to maintain their title challenge

He has managed five goals in his four north London derbies, most recently netting from the penalty spot in the reverse fixture, a 1-1 draw at the Emirates in November.

He returned from an ankle injury that day to underline his importance to Mauricio Pochettino's side, and promptly scored seven in his next six games.

His form has been crucial to a second title challenge in as many seasons and a strong end to the campaign could yet end in silverware.

The England forward continues to dispel the myth that his 21-goal maiden Premier League season was a "one-hit wonder".

Having failed to score for England at Euro 2016, Spurs feared a hangover as Kane went goalless through his first three Premier League appearances.

But he has since scored 20 goals in 21 matches in the competition and but for injury would likely be closer to current Golden Boot leader Romelu Lukaku (24 goals).

His fine solo contribution in the 4-0 demolition of Bournemouth means Kane is now one of only four players to score 20+ Premier League goals in three consecutive seasons. His company? Alan Shearer, Ruud van Nistelrooy and Henry.

Dele Alli has also been excellent, 16 Premier League goals and a second consecutive PFA Young Player of the Year award is testament to that, but it is Kane who has tortured Arsenal in recent meetings.
