Tottenham have confirmed that Romanian defender Vlad Chiriches has completed a move to Napoli.
Chiriches was pictured arriving in Italy on Tuesday night for a medical, with Sky sources reporting that a fee of £3.5m plus £1.42m in add-ons had been agreed between the two clubs.
Spurs have now announced that a deal has been completed for the defender to move to Italy after 43 appearances for Tottenham following an £8.5m move from Steaua Bucharest in 2013.
Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino has already added central defenders Toby Alderweireld and Kevin Wimmer to his squad and Chiriches was deemed surplus to requirements, along with Younes Kaboul who joined Sunderland earlier this summer.
A brief statement on the Tottenham website said: “We wish Vlad every success for the future.”
