Nottingham Forest embargo to be lifted by Football League

Nottingham Forest's transfer embargo will be lifted by the Football League this weekend.

The Championship club were placed under embargo in December 2014 for breaching Financial Fair Play rules during the previous season.

As a consequence, Forest have been unable to pay fees for players in each of the last three transfer windows.

A Football League statement read: "As stated within Rule 6.6 of the FFP (Financial Fair Play) rules, the embargo will be lifted with effect from the opening of the transfer window for for Championship clubs on Saturday 7 May 2016."
