La Liga newcomers Las Palmas have signed Paraguay international defender Antolin Alcaraz.

Alcaraz was available on a free transfer after his contract with Everton expired at the end of last season following two years at Goodison Park.

The 33-year-old, who has won 24 international caps, has agreed a one-year deal with Las Palmas with the option of a further year, the club from Gran Canaria said in a statement on their website.
